Learn traditional American Slow and Low BBQ from one of the UKs most awarded Pit Masters, Sam Evans who has over a decade’s worth of experience in making BBQ. No previous experience is necessary. Everyone will enjoy a huge American BBQ feast at the end of class and will have gained a wealth of knowledge to be able to make perfect US BBQ at home.

With over a decade’s worth of experience in cooking all things wood and coal-fired; from ribs to brisket and pork to hotlinks. Sam and Shauna will share the secrets behind their award-winning BBQ restaurant, Hang Fire Southern Kitchen.

Cancellation Policy
Cancel up to 3 weeks before your class and receive a full refund. If you cancel less than 3 weeks before the class, you will be offered alternative, equivalent, class dates without a refund unless the class is of lesser value (valid up to one year of initial purchase). If you cancel 4 days before your class you could lose your payment as the place will be difficult to fill at the last minute and the produce will have been ordered. However, if we manage to fill your place, we can offer you a full refund.

  • Mise en place: Work like a chef. Better prep, means a better cook
  • Smoking with wood splits, chips and chunks – when to add
  • Understanding the ‘stall’ and how to overcome
  • When to sauce, when to baste
  • Sauces and rubs

BBQ QUEENS

Sometimes when you book classes like this, you have an idea of what it might look like in your mind and the reality doesn’t always live up to the expectation….but, in this case the opposite is true. These two legends welcome you to the class like old friends and make everybody feel completely relaxed - no matter their experience level. The class itself is jam packed with helpful tips and everyone in our class came away with new and improved ways to BBQ. The atmosphere is fun and convivial, helped along by a couple of ice cold beers! We had such a fun day and would definitely recommend to others…
One last thing - come hungry.

Well thought out and delivered masterclass

A lot of work must have gone into planning the class, which effortlessly covered a lot of material. I've spent a fair bit of time trying to learn American BBQ, so have a reasonable grasp of the main concepts, but Sam was brilliant at demonstrating and explaining the processes. We also ate very very well! Definitely recommend.
